Margaritas on the Rocks!

Margaritas on the Rocks is one of my very favorite cocktails….so tart and refreshing!  Normally I have a Cinco De Mayo Party every year, but with the pandemic going on, we’re not doing that these days.   Now it’s 4th of July, and the pandemic is still going on…and on…and on.  So, I decided to bust out the Margaritas even if I can’t have a party!!

They are very easy to make.  You just need a few ingredients and they are deliciously tart and sweet at the same time.  They are definitely America’s favorite cocktail for a reason!

Ingredients for Margaritas on the Rocks:

For one cocktail:

1.5 oz Tequila (Patron Silver is my fave…I keep it in the freezer)

½ oz Triple Sec (or Cointreau or Grand Marnier, if you’re fancy like that)

¾ oz Lime Juice (Freshly Squeezed of course!)

¾ oz Agave (Golden Light)

Margarita Salt (Optional)

Tip: 1 oz is equal to 2 Tablespoons!!

For a pitcher:

1 ½ cups Tequila (Patron Silver is my fave)

½ cup Triple Sec (or Cointreau or Grand Marnier, if you’re fancy like that)

¾ cup Lime Juice (Freshly Squeezed of course!)

¾ cup Agave (Golden Light)

Margarita Salt (Optional)

If you chose to salt the rim of your glass, take a wedge of lime, slice a slit in the lime, and swirl the lime around the rim of the glass.  Pour some margarita salt on a small plate and rotate the rim of the glass into the salt to coat…as thin or as thick as you like.

Fill your prepared, salty rimmed glass (if using) with ice cubes.  If making one Margarita, put all ingredients in a shaker with several ice cubes, shake vigorously for one minute, and pour over ice.  If making a full pitcher, combine the ingredients in the pitcher and stir, pouring each portion into a shaker and shake vigorously for one minute before pouring into prepared glass.  Garnish with a juicy lime wedge!  You can totally make these without using a shaker, they just don’t come out all frothy…but still delish!

Repeat this process as many times as it takes… 😉
